Multi Engine Piston Rating

The Multi Engine Piston – MEP(A) rating extends the privileges of a Private Pilot License – PPL(A) or Commercial Pilot License – CPL(A) and allows you to fly an aircraft with more than one engine under Visual Flight Rules – VFR


The Multi Engine Piston Rating allows you to progress your flying onto a more powerful, twin engine aircraft. This can be done simply for pleasure or if you wish to go into an airline career, the MEP is an essential part of your training.


Theory is held over two days.

Duration

2 - 4 weeks


Course includes


  • 15 hrs in-class theory
  • 6 hrs flight training

Entry Requirements


  • Valid PPL(A) or CPL(A) with SEP
  • Minimum 70 hrs PIC 
  • Medical Class 2 or Class 1

We do offer a MEP IR as an add-on to a SEP IR and MEP VFR. 


Additional training required:


  • 3 hrs theory
  • 5 hrs flight training
